Stories That Inspire Change
Welcome to the Impact Stories page of the Texas Prison Transparency Project. Here, we share true accounts from inside Texas prisons, giving both inmates and staff a voice. Our hope is that these stories will foster trust, inspire hope, and motivate you to help us create meaningful change. We aim to reach donors, legislators, and prison staff, bridging the gap between those inside and outside the system. After reading these stories, we encourage you to get involved or donate to support our mission.

"In my time in TDCJ, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by both inmates and staff. The lack of resources and support created a difficult environment for everyone. TPTP's work to bring transparency is crucial for fostering understanding and driving positive change." - Kyler DeLange
“As a mother with two sons in the Texas prison system, I’ve seen the pain, the injustice, and the inhumane conditions they face, especially in segregation. The isolation and mental torment eat away at their spirit, and as a mother, it’s a constant battle to keep their hope alive. But through it all, my sons have learned to lean on faith, holding tight to prayer and the belief that God still has a purpose for them beyond those walls. The system claims to correct but instead breaks people down, both inmates and staff. That’s why I stand with the Texas Prison Transparency Project, to bring these truths to light and push for real change inside TDCJ.”
